Our commitment

Emerald Atlas is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA as our conformance target.

What we've implemented

• Semantic HTML landmarks and a logical heading order on every page
• A "skip to main content" link as the first focusable element
• Full keyboard operability with visible focus indicators
• Text contrast targeting 4.5:1 or better, and 3:1 for interface components
• Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images and empty alt on decorative ones
• Touch targets sized for comfortable use on mobile devices
• Labelled form fields with text-based error messages
• Respect for reduced-motion preferences; no autoplaying media with sound

Known limitations

We are working on a small number of items: photography in this launch phase uses placeholder imagery pending final licensed assets, and some Journal entries are still in draft. We do not use an accessibility overlay widget — we consider accessible markup the correct solution rather than a third-party script layered over it.
